Program Description The Hospitality - Hotel Operations Management program offers you the business skills and acumen to work in a wide range of areas within this multifaceted industry. Those areas include front desk management, housekeeping operations, food and beverage management and human resources planning. Industry professionals will lead you as you learn in our Hotel Operations courses, and serve guests in The Local Cafe and Restaurant, 20,000 square foot Event Centre and four boutique style guest rooms. You can also further your knowledge and skills during a 14-week field placement with one of our leading industry partnerships, who will support your learning and development. Throughout the program, you will receive relevant technology-based training and industry certifications (including Smart Serve, Food Handlers and CPR/First Aid) that will be recognized and sought after by top employers. Graduates of the Hotel Operations Management program have unlimited career opportunities, responding to the needs of guests and providing them with exceptional service and attention to detail. You will be fully prepared to step into key roles within both the front and back of a hotel, and make an impact on the guest experience. Program Highlights: During your Hospitality – Hotel Operations Management courses, you have the opportunity to engage in experiential learning Our on-campus operations serve as your classroom - you will receive training in our state-of-the-art Restaurant and Event facilities, including four guest rooms, preparing you for the industry You will work closely with your peers and experienced faculty to learn and practice key skills that employers are seeking Industry-recognized certifications are built into coursework to enhance your resumé Are you an international student? If so, please note that you will not be eligible for your post-graduation work permit if you take a semester off from your learning. It’s Your Shift Training and Awareness Program: The program includes an innovative industry training and awareness certification – It’s Your Shift. The certification equips students with the crucial knowledge and provides current resources focused on sexual harassment prevention and safe practices for intervention as frontline workers or managers. It will support graduates as they enter the hospitality industry to become leaders for the prevention of sexual harassment and contribute to the evolution of safe and welcoming work environments. The SMART Accreditation Program: Centennial's Hospitality – Hotel Operations Management two-year diploma program and Hospitality and Tourism Administration three-year advanced diploma program have been honoured with the organization's SMART + Premium status, which means the programs exceed basic tourism industry standards.
